Global Environmental Management Introduction

Welcome to Seoul National University's joint major, Global Environmental Management.

The world and nations are now facing the challenges in the sustainability of natural resources and environmental quality.

Finding solutions to environmental problems requires a new paradigm for individuals, nations and corporations.

Environmental management is necessary for sustainable development at the local and global levels.

In order to realize this new paradigm, there is a need to train experts who can play a critical role in environmental management.

Seoul National University has set up a mission to educate students who can contribute to sustainable development of our global society.

Interdisciplinary Program on Global Environmental Management

• An undergraduate program as a second major, started in 2010

• Applications are open to only those who are already enrolled at SNU

• Students who have completed the course requirements will be granted the degree of ‘Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management’

• Fourteen departments and three graduate schools will participate in this program, namely : Department of Philosophy, Department of Psychology, Department of Sociology, Department of Anthropology, Department of Geography, School of Life Science, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Interdisciplinary Program in Agricultural Biotechnology, Department of Forest Sciences, Department of Landscape Architecture and Rural System Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Department of Energy Systems Engineering, Business School, Department of Veterinary Medicine, Graduate School of Public Health, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Graduate School of Public Administration.
